Two projects of YSU scientists became winners of the Russian Science Foundation competition in the RNF priority area “Conducting fundamental scientific research and prospecting scientific research by small individual scientific groups”. The projects received financial support for implementation.

The author of the first project “Removal of dissolved organic matter and associated trace elements from the upland bog, its transformation in the hydrological continuum” is Irina Ivanova, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Ecosystem-Atmospheric Relations of Forest-Marsh Complexes, YUSU. The scientific team of the project will also include Boris Adamovich, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Research Laboratory of Hydroecology, Belarus State University, Evgeny Zarov, Senior Researcher at YUSU, and undergraduate student Leonid Litvinov.

“This project is aimed at seasonal study of biogeochemical processes of transformation of carbon and associated elements in ecosystems of the hydrological continuum. Identification of hydrogeochemical processes and factors controlling the extent of organic carbon removal and its transformation, influence on the degree of enrichment of natural waters with chemical elements will be carried out through field observations in pilot ecosystems of the Mukhri bog”, - added the author of the project.

The second project - “Consequences and risks of transformation of models of territorial socio-economic development of Russian regions in the conditions of neoliberal policy implementation” - was developed by Ksenia Goncharova, a researcher at the Higher School of Digital Economy of YUSU.

The project is an experimental one and includes the following tasks: identification of the main models of territorial development, peculiarities of their adaptation during the period 1990-2023 and consequences of the implementation of neoliberal regional policy; computer modeling of probable (experimental) scenarios, as well as assessment of critical risks and threats of subsequent transformation of territorial development models depending on the specifics of specific territories under different strategies and instruments of neoliberal policy implementation; substantiation of the following problems: identification of the main models of territorial development, peculiarities of their adaptation during the period 1990-2023 and consequences of the implementation of neoliberal regional policy.

Implementation period of both projects 2025-2026.
